Vinha das Urzes white

Vinha da Urze lies around the town of Almendra, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa, in the reaches of the Upper Douro River. The property lies in the confluence of 3 of Portugal’s , and the world’s, iconic natural and historic heritage landmarks: theArchaeological Park of the Côa-Valley, the Natural Park of International Douro and the Douro D.O. Region for Porto and wine.

Tasting Notes The wine is well balanced ,ripe and round. Bright mineral notes that are fresh, with delicious flavors of peach and apple on a succulent crisp finish. This white wine is an ideal accompaniment for all kinds of fish, shellfish, white meat and vegetables. Serve slightly chilled between 8 and 12º.
Vinification/Maturation After Grapes arrive at the winery, they are sorted and bad clusters removed.  The bunches are then totally destemmed, given a smooth crushing and skin maceration for about 12 hours.  After this period in inert atmosphere, they are pneumaticly pressed and clarified for 24 to 48 hours, dependng on varietal and state of ripeness.  Hyperreduction pre-fermentative followed by alcoholic fermentation at 13ºC.
