Marques de Marialva Brut

D. António Luís de Meneses-commander of the Portuguese troops during the vital restoration wars between 1640-1648- played a vital role in Portugal gaining Independence from Spain. To honor Meneses, the king of Portugal gave him the title ‘Marques de Marialva’, in recognition of his victories in battle. As a way to honor and recognize his important role in Portugal’s History, Adega de Cantanhede decided that our best still and sparkling wines from the Bairrada DOC should carry his name.
