Muros Melgaço Alvarinho

White wine made from grapes of Alvarinho variety produced exclusively in
Melgaço. The vineyards are on southfacing hillsides with high maturation and high levels of acidity. Fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels for 6 months.
It’s complexity and excellence is the results of more than 25 years of study to achieve perfection. Over the years it has become a reference in Portugal for its elegance, class and consistency.

Tasting Notes Complex varietal aromas where the grapefruit and lemon fruit as well as the sweet citrus from tangerine arise along with floral aromas of orange blossom. On the palate it is elegant and silky with pronounced complex flavors. It finishes long with discreet oak, citrus and mineral notes.
Vinification/Maturation Careful selection of the best southfacing plots. Handpicked bunches into small boxes and carried to the winery in a short period of time. Soft pressing of the whole destemmed grapes. Slight settling of the must. Fermentation in French oak barrels with bâtonnage on total lees for 6 months.
