Adega Mãe Viosinho

AdegaMãe sits on the western strip of the territory and everything about it ties back to the defining conditions of the region. The nearness of the Atlantic Ocean and the nature of the soil itself allow for the creation of decidedly original wines, showing a refreshing natural acidity and a mineral character. The Mono-Castas (one-grape) wines are created to showcase the atlantic terroir through the varieta’ls unique expression.

Tasting Notes This is our “Gran Cru”, as it is made from vines planted in the section of our vineyards that contain the most limestone in the soil. It has surprising mineral notes and stone fruits, like peach and plum. Lively acidity with an almost briney finish. Very profound.
Vinification/Maturation Total destemming, light pressing, cold decantation, fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature (15-16ºC), for 15 days. In batonnage for 6 months.
