Portugal – Madeira

Out in the Atlantic, closer to Morocco than Portugal, lays the sub-tropical island of Madeira. Taking up an area of 452 miles, this expired volcano is known for its fortified wines that can stand through the test of time. There are only 8 producers on the island, all with their own unique house style. A unique and breathtaking landscape that is defined by its rugged mountains, deep valleys and the exotic and dense Laural forest, the largest surviving, and was given the title as a ‘World Heritage Site’ by UNESCO in 1999.
